Fishing Trips

Haapajärvi and Poroselkä lake areas offer a great chance for fishing with several different types of boats you can rent from us. In the wintertime we'll use snowmobiles, and tow a sleigh so even a group can join for searching the under-ice fishing nets, or we can hike with snowshoes to the ice and try catching some perch by ice fishing!

The catch will be prepared into a tasty meal in various ways: smoke it, fry it, cook it by the open fire or make a soup – you can join the handling of the fish with a guide and then enjoy the meal.

Real Fisherman cup a full-day event, will measure who is the best fisherman of your group. Playful competition, measuring each other's catch, counting how many times it was so close to catch the fish… The competition often turns to a real challenge! After the competition we will announce The Real Fisherman, who will be rewarded with the cup. The hot fish soup will be enjoyed with the fresh bread and dessert made of berries. Soon will the smoke sauna be filled with amazing fishing stories when the competitors relax after a one really interesting day.

Row briskly, hurry to fishing! – trip will take you on the Haapajärvi lake with a very special Finnish church boat – a huge rowing boat, seated even for bigger groups. The smooth glide of the church boat and fishing rod with a reel, who'll be the first to catch a fish? A real competition will be going on sooner or later. Lake Haapajärvi is stocked with perch, pikes, zanders and breams. Small and cozy island waits the fishers with fish soup, cooked on the open fire. In the middle of the nature will the day's events be discussed once again! After an enjoyable break the trip continues by rowing the church boat back to the Haapaniemi. The catch will be handled by the guide according to your wishes (of course you are welcome to do it yourself, if you like). The cleaned fish you can take with you – or we'll smoke it or fry it for tasty evening snack after having the sauna first.
